pictures from Hardmoors 55, 19 March 2011, a run in the Yorkshire Moors

this is proof that i was on the moors.

a family of sheep, if you stop where the sheep ar, then sometimes they try to follow you especially if you look at them, but they quickly lose interrest  and also, sheep dont seem to like running, at all.

this is part of the trail, and you can see its definitly a sunny day, which apparently is not normal for the Yorkshire Moors, where people are known to die, murderers have been known to hide, and which have often been described as desolate, but mostly in the context of poems or maybe thrillers.

here are some giant trees, this was quite soon into the run, and it reminded me a bit of Mpumalanga, which used to be called the Eastern Transvaal, and there are a lot of forests there (as well as the Kruger Park and you can go white water rafting along rivers that have crocodiles and hippos in them. the hippo is one of the only animals that cant be tamed, along with the rhino)

this I got from some photo's someone else took, but its nice.and indicative.

Morning in the Burned House and other related things

this is a poem i found for some reason, one of Margaret Atwood's poems of significance




and then this one, i thought of because its also about a burned house and then if you watch the interview with Tom, after the song, then some of it is also sort of about houses, when the guy interviewing him keeps asking him about the various places he's lived in like cars, motels, being born in a cab etc. I think i already wrote out this song before, so I'm not writing it out again because its clear from the listening to the song, which is also very comforting.




Then finally, Louise Bourgeois made a lot of things that are to do with houses or homes or places to be in. so for example the main one i can think of is her Cell Exhibition in 2007 in Tate Modern, which i cant really explain here, and its not so much to do with burning as to do with blood and various other things like fabrics and old collected things related to the cells and well quite a lot of things
