The Compton Instructions
this is one page of the instructions, not about the route, just about the rest of it, and only some of it. The coloured writing is my commenting and the black bits are part of the original instructions of that particular page. This is for the Compton 40 mile (but where you can change your mind and do 20 miles or you can change your mind from 20 to 40) which starts on saturday this week, so the 3rd of April.

some pictures from Steyning
this is of the downs before checkpoint one and apparently it was 2 or minus 2 degrees celcius. this got taken by the photography guy and he seems to like to record all sorts of things like the temperature. it looks quite nice, sort of how it was really.
in the beginning of the steyning stinger i fell, because normally on the south downs there is a lot of mud, but on sunday the mud had gone hard, but it still looked like normal mud but in fact it was like granite, so i fell and got grazes but i didnt really feel them because it was very cold and it didnt really matter only now i notice them because of the laptop being boiling hot from being turned on all day. This is from all week because I've been with my laptop all week and running every day except monday because i didnt want to get DOMS (Delayed Muscle Onset Soreness)which you can read about in the Lore of Running by Tim Noakes who is South African and he has also obviously run the Comrades a few times and he's friends with Bruce Fordyce who has won the Comrades about 6 times, and also the London to Brighton twice.
this is my elbow, its a bit hard to take a photo of an elbow! i didnt feel that one iether luckily.
this is of my 2010 races, because the 2009 ones are still on the wall near my hand with the grazes, but soon i'll take the 2009 ones down if i can think of a new topic.
this is me running, i put it here because of the pink which was like an experiment so it needs to be with the other things together to see and also because it is probably symbolic of something that i have my eyes closed. i dont remember running with my eyes closed, but maybe that is in fact how i fell, from not looking where I am going, and i mustn't blame it on the state of the mud.
